Each of these additional challenges will cost more rite materials, shown on the right menu. Once you select a chalice the next menu will give you a more in depth version of the previous menu, and will give you the option to create the dungeon with additional challenges, such as stronger enemies, more traps, and PvP. The middle menu on this screen will explaining the materials needed to create the dungeon associated with the highlighted chalice. Selecting Chalice Ritual will present you with a menu prompting you to select a chalice. You will be presented with a menu giving the options of: Chalice Ritual, Chalice Dungeon Search, and Search by Chalice Glyph. To create a Chalice Dungeon you need to go to one of the Ritual Altars in Hunter's Dream. There is no difference between the Rituals Altars, with exception of the Makeshift Altar which is for multiplayer (co-op or invasion) dungeons only. Each altar can only hold one Chalice Dungeon at a time. The Ritual Altars basically function as slots, in which you can create and store Chalice Dungeons. There are a number of different Chalice Dungeons that can be created, depending on what type of Chalice is used in the Chalice Ritual. These rituals can be done by combining Ritual Materials with Chalices at one of the Ritual Altars in Hunter's Dream.
